Traveling with Toddlers
I think we can all agree that traveling, in general, is pretty stressful. The hustle and bustle of the airport, finding your gate, making sure you have your ID handy when you need it – it all adds up. Now, imagine all of that but add a toddler into the mix. Recipe for disaster, anyone?
One of the easiest things you can do when traveling with a toddler to make your life exponentially easier is to prepare! Although this might seem obvious, this is where a lot of parents trip up. Sure, you could pull everything together the night before you have to hop on a plane across the country, but the odds of you forgetting to pack something is super high. Not to mention the stress last minute packing adds is pretty soul crushing. The best way to prepare is to do it a few days ahead of time, this way you have a buffer for yourself.
To make your life even easier, try to make a list before you start packing! As you think of things throughout the week add them to the list that way you can grab and pack when that time comes. Try to think of different scenarios you might find yourself in and what you may need during those times. Consider flight delays and how long your travel time is. Is entertainment for your little one necessary? Are snacks a must?
Don’t worry about over-packing, either. It is always better to be prepared and ready. To help you traveling parents out, check out the checklist of items that will help get you started. Safe travels!
