St. Patrick’s Day Recipes for Kids

Who's excited for corned beef, cabbage and soda bread? Of course you are!  But your little ones? Maybe not so much. Especially if you've got picky eaters!

So that leaves us with one question... what the heck are you going to make for your kids this St. Patrick's Day?  At Mary, Mother of the Light Academy in Tequesta, we've put our heads together and compiled several of our favorite St. Patty's Day recipes for children. Your kids can even pitch in and help you make them! They're fun, silly, and best of all, delicious! In fact, these recipes are about as awesome as finding a pot of gold (sorry, we couldn't resist).

First up, we've got Rainbow Pudding! Layer different colors of pudding in clear cups. Super easy, right? The only thing that’s more fun than these lucky pudding cups is eating them!

These festive little pots of gold may only take 25 minutes to make but will put a long-lasting smile on little faces! This is one of our favorites here at Mary, Mother of the Light Academy! Click here for the recipe!

Leprechaun Breakfast: This is a quick and easy way to get the holiday started! Grab a box of Lucky Charms and a few drops of green food coloring mixed into a glass of milk. Voila! You've got breakfast fit for a leprechaun. This can be a St. Patrick’s Day tradition for your little ones!

Trying to get your kids to eat their fruit? Here's a creative way to sneak it into their diet. This is great for St. Patrick's Day, but we think it could be used any time of year! You'll need some pie crust (premade), colorful pieces of fruit, and cream cheese frosting to make this beautiful rainbow tart. Your kids will gobble it up in no time!

Lucky Clover Krispies Treats: Mix green food coloring into your rice crispy treats. Follow the regular instructions and use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out four hearts. Push the points of each heart together to form a four leaf clover. Use your hands to form the stem.

If you've got any St. Patrick's Day recipes for kids that you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you in the comments!

We'll wrap up this blog post with a blessing. An Irish blessing, of course.

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
